About Us

We are a small manufacturer of beach wheelchairs that are made of aluminum and need powder coating. Over the years, we’ve experienced the frustrations of dealing with local powder coating shops – the small guys are too small, and the larger shops are too busy to give our business the attention it deserves. We were often treated as second-class citizens, faced constant rate increases, or had to wait indefinitely while being backlisted.
That’s why we decided to set up our own shop – to break the mold.

Introduction to Powder Coating

The Powder Coating Process

Surface Preparation

Clean and prep metal surfaces by stripping old paint, where needed, and sandblasting for superior powder adhesion. Old parts get degreased and power washed.

Application of Powder

After surface preparation, powder coating starts with an electrostatic spray gun. Charged powder particles adhere uniformly to grounded metal, covering intricate shapes effectively.

Curing

Once coated, the part enters a curing oven at 350-400°F (175-200°C). Heat melts and bonds the powder, forming a durable finish in 10-20 minutes.

Cooling and Inspection

After curing, the coated part cools to room temperature, solidifying the durable finish. It undergoes rigorous inspection for quality and uniformity before final approval.
